Is there any way to tell between a false pregnancy and true pregnancy in dogs without an ultrasound?

My miniature schnauzer has been raised several times between April 11-15. Since then, her nipples were enlarged and she seems "plump", but not significantly larger. If she waits, she is due sometime during the next 2-3 weeks and I expect it to be greater than it is now. It does not seem to stop eating at any time if the illness "morning" did not happen. Is there a way to say definitley before calling the vet for an ultrasound if it is just showing signs of pregnancy, or false if it's the real thing?
