Chronic Bronchitis?

I think my girlfriend may be suffering from chronic bronchitis, although she does not believe, why I think it is only because last year she had bronchitis 4 times, until this year it was 3 times, not to mention that today, the doctor said it was Getting It AGAIN, so that sounds like 8 times in 1 1/2-1 2 / 3 years and I think it becomes a serious problem. What advice can I offer her? also quit smoking stop it? I'm open to suggestions, thank you.
I am not sure athsma, perhaps. The doctor told bronchitis, and she gets lots of PHLEM (typo?) In the chest and throat n stuff, and so begins the bronchitis that I heard, excess mucus and it becomes infected. I'll have a heart to heart convo with her after work on this subject, regardless of whether smoking is the cause, it needs to stop smoking.
It was on an inhaler several times in the past when the get really bad, but not all the time. The doctor prescribed some antibiotics to take care of her, and even a couple of times things really hard, he cleans, but then comes right back. Btw, she is only 21 years.
