I was injured in a car accident not my fault, how much compensation you can get paid. I heard they did 4 X is the amount of medical bills, the whole truth about this?
You received incorrect information. Insurance companies have no pricing formula. Settlement value is based on the nature and extent of your injury, disability, treatment, permanence, and include special damages (MEDS and wages). Think about this: you have a broken arm and have to go to the emergency casting. You suffer some PT once the cast is off. The wound is serious enough, and you agree only $ 2k in drugs. Based on what you said, the liquidation value is $ 8k. That May be on the light side. However, rather than you suffer an injury to soft tissue and you inflated your medical expenses by overtreating for a period of time. When all is said and done, you incur $ 15K in medical examinations. Do you really think $ 60k would be adequate compensation? Would not you think it's a broken arm should have more value?
