Is allergic asthmatic bronchitis the same as asthma?

I went to the doctor (a pulmomologist) in Janurary 2007 for what I suspected was a mild asthma. I do take singulair and an inhaler (4x a day but lately I do not need it but once or twice) His diagnosis was allergic asthmatic bronchitis. When I asked him what he said "you have lung twichy" It means nothing to me. I went online to try to get a better understanding and as far as I know I have asthma. If it is asthma then why can not my doc said I have asthma? My mom says it'll go ... do not see that happening. Some days are good days and some are not. Can anyone telll me if I have asthma?Besides, I've never had bronchitis. Have had allergies all my life, but now when I am exposed to a trigger response is coughing, difficulty breathing and wheezing not sneezing, runny nose, itchy watery eyes and congestion. Could my allergies have "evloved" in asthma?
