Stay indoors to avoid breathing problems this Diwali
New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) Do not smoke, stay indoors and to increase drug cases of breathlessness during Diwali - some expert advice to people suffering from respiratory diseases.Doctors said the level of suspended particulates in the air increases alarmingly during Diwali, causing breathing, eyes, throat and nose problems.
"The soaring level of pollution due to the lighting of firecrackers during Diwali and people with respiratory diseases like asthma, bronchitis, and those with hypersensitive airways must be very careful," said RK Mani, director of the Pulmonary, Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon.
Mani said that the level of suspended particles in the atmosphere has increased since last month Dusshera and people are already complaining of breathlessness.
"Many patients with asthma have approached us with the problem of breathlessness and it will worsen over the next two days.
