Danada Fall Festival crowds meet FTEA
The chilly weather did not deter the crowd of people running for the Fall Festival at Danada Equestrian DuPage County Forest Preserve Center. Making their exit Hayrides worth:, demonstrations, training programs for the Western Mustang horses adopted by the Center, tours of the stables, information stands and signs on everything from what horses eat the chance to touch the fur of animals that live in DuPage County. And yes, fox, beaver and mink are surprisingly mild. Coyotes and deer are coarse outer layers.
But my interest was in yesterday's demonstrations FTEA.Friends FTEA-activities- Therapeutic Equine-therapy offers horses for children with special needs and adults. For the Fall Festival, FTEA four students and their coaches have demonstrated their riding skills, while the program director Nancy Winkelman said what other benefits students receive as they learn to fly.
What types of disability can FTEA work? They’ve crafted programs for children and adults with congenital conditions such as Downs syndrome and cerebral palsy as well as those suffering the aftereffects of traumatic brain injury and other disabilities resulting from accident or illness. A wheelchair ramp facilitates mounting for students who cannot walk or stand unaided. But FTEA also helps those with developmental challenges such as sensory integration disorder and autism.
If you positive someone who might be helped by equine therapy, tell them
