I have a compression fracture in my lower back that has been re broke twice. Once in another car accident and another time falling on ice. I have been told by several Doctors that a compression fracture is one of the most painful fractures there is. If this is so then why does my doctor at the university keep prescribing me alieve? Like I have not tried it before coming in to see him. My brother broke his ankle and was prescribed percocet and I was having a real bad day with my back so he gave me one and guess what? the pain was finally tolerable and I mean tolerable enough to get some work done around the house. So, naturally, what should I do? I asked Doc why I did not get something like that? His answer is "It's hospital policy not to give drugs to our patients." I was overwhelmed! He prescribed physical therapy. Instead of being angry that I try. The next day my back hurts so much that I have the most difficulty over the years to get out of bed. Finally get him out of bed then all day I got the worst pain over the years in my stocking back. I call him Doc said the news he says (after several messages and be waiting for hours) "rest and try again in a week or two."I can not believe this, I found something that works and it does not give me the place, he put me through the worst pain since my accident. Why is this? All hospitals are the same or similar policies? Why this policy put in place? I mean, everyone on the planet, a drug researcher, now? even those whose X-rays to prove they were really a problem? I really need a good doc so please, if anyone knows of one in Columbus, Ohio, who accepts Medicaid please respond. Thank you for your time and all your help Painfully yours, Jay.
