Should I have knee joint replacement at 70 or physical therapy?

My doctor will not process until I'm 70, which is long in the future unless I have excruciating pain.
Certainly PT first. And I would only do the operation after trying PT for 2-3 months if the course was really difficult and painful. I have seen several cases of patients of age and older are in joint replacement surgery and never to leave the hospital b / c pheumonia contracting, or DVT, etc. This does not mean that it will happen for you, but understand that any surgery is serious and should be considered if you have real difficulty with everyday activities necessary. The detox is long and much harder than the PT is Wthout surgery.Granted there are many more cases where patients do quite well after surgery.

Definitely try physical therapy first. If after two months you do not see a change then make the decision to replace the knee joint.
