Is laser therapy for joint injury and inflamation a fraud? If not, what exactly is the underlying mechanism?

I recovered from knee surgery and part of my physical therapy is also effective therapy laser light in which the therapist shines a light on my knee. Unfortunately the evil is within the joint, not on the surface of the skin.

Everything looks like idiocy and feels like a nonsense. Like straight out of a trip in 1880 Patent Medicine Show.

What if any real scientific basis could there be for this treatment?

Although I do not know much about this specifically, it was presented as an effective treatment for Achilles tendinitis. Several studies exist to support it, but I have not read in detail too.

Just make a quick ice with Pedro (physiotherapy database of evidence), very few studies on LLLT for knee problems exist (even if Pedro is not included studies ALL). When they exist, they focus mainly on arthritis and truly perform poorly or have been poorly done.

I ask your PT for a few specific scientific references about its effectiveness.
