Is laser therapy for joint injury and inflamation a fraud? If not, what exactly is the underlying mechanism?

I recovered from knee surgery and part of my physical therapy is also effective therapy laser light in which the therapist shines a light on my knee. Unfortunately the evil is within the joint, not on the surface of the skin.

Everything looks like idiocy and feels like a nonsense. Like straight out of a trip in 1880 Patent Medicine Show.

What if any real scientific basis could there be for this treatment?

Although I do not know much about this specifically, it was presented as an effective treatment for Achilles tendinitis. Several studies exist to support it, but I have not read in detail too.

... provided that the knee surgery ... I am not so sure. Just make a quick ice with Pedro (physiotherapy database of evidence), very few studies on LLLT for knee problems exist (even if Pedro is not included studies ALL). When they exist, they focus mainly on arthritis and truly perform poorly or have been poorly done.

I ask your PT for a few specific scientific references about its effectiveness.

On each plague, the clinical significance correlation with the duration, dosage and other parameters was performed. The main treatment consisted of a state three are close. This mixed with a photon for from a horde of gallium arsenide diodes specified aluminum; Division One red light table, two compounds present a set of infra-red diodes and the third year consists of relevance of a consideration infrared diode laser. The poor, each of these groups required less than 10 treatments with constant and resulted in a suggestive repair / remedy largest species of 90% in all conditions treated. This piece clearly shows the benefits of LILT, indicating that it would be more appropriate by many in all walks of life-saving medical.Low force Laser Therapy (LILT), both clinical and prospects for review was discussed intensively during the orbit of his staff attention to it iveness in the days beyond recall 30. Considering this intercontinental narration, the use of lasers to accommodate stack is a relatively new, particularly in North America.
