Meet the Kent Street Family Chiropractic Team

I was a patient at Kent St. Family Chiropractic long before I started working here.  For years I had suffered with headaches, and never really understood the reasons behind them.  One thing that impressed me with this office is how they educate the patient, and explain to them how subluxations are affecting their health and well being.

I have always wanted to help people, and when a position opened up at this office it was a perfect fit!  I now have the opportunity to help people to better health.

As well as my position here, I am a worship leader at our church.  I also enjoy scrap-booking and reading, and don't even get me started about shopping with my daughter!

Chiropractic care has been a part of my life for more than 25 years.  I know first hand of its benefits and I can't imagine not going to the chiropractor for better health!  In the summer of 2005 an opening at Kent St. Family Chiropractic coincided with my search for work and I was thrilled to be welcomed to this team of professionals.

Being a front desk Chiropractic Health Assistant has given me opportunity to meet some amazing people, hear their chiropractic stories and share my own.  Through working with Dr. Croutch, Dr. Kinsinger and the other chiropractic assistants on staff my knowledge and appreciation of spinal health steadily increases.  I look forward to meeting our next amazing patient and walking with them on their road to optimum health!

I first sought chiropractic care for nagging lower back pain several years ago.  I have been amazed at how my whole body is affected by subluxations.  Since I have had regular chiropractic adjustments, I have been much healthier.  The education we provide our patients is extremely beneficial to their health and well-being.

When not at work, I am a strong supporter of volunteerism in our community.  Currently, I am the President of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Kawartha Lakes Chapter.  I am also a canvasser for many other charitable organizations in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

I have my degree in Nursing and thought my career would be in hospitals or Public Health.  The first  time I really thought about chiropractic  I was in severe pain and could hardly breathe.  I was told I could either go to the emergency room, take muscle relaxants, pain killers and be on bed-rest for 3 days and miss work, or I could go to a chiropractor who would probably give me very quick relief.  I went to see the chiropractor and with one adjustment the pain was gone and I could breathe freely.  WOW!

Since then chiropractic has helped me with many chronic health problems for which the medical profession offered no successful help (IE: headaches and chronic back pain).  I still need my medical doctor for some things, but nowhere near as often because I am so much healthier because of chiropractic.

I love working with my husband, helping people get healthier and stay healthier.  It is much more rewarding than any nursing job I  ever had.  Seeing amazing, and at times, very quick recoveries to debilitating problems when I know how little the medical profession has to offer them.  I particularly love to work with elderly people who know they are headed in the direction of a wheelchair and a nursing home - and then to get a postcard from them as they are traveling - something they knew they'd not be able to do without chiropractic help.  Now that's exciting!

Dr. Stu Asks some important questions of interest to Lindsay residents - Chiropractor Lindsay Dr. Stu Asks...

How do chiropractors help ADHD?
There is agreement that ADHD is a nervous system disorder. And while chiropractic isn't a treatment for ADHD, if your child has vertebral subluxations, resolving them will often produce profound results. Click here to learn why more and more Lindsay parents are choosing natural chiropractic care rather than dangerous psychotropic drugs.
Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
